The hotel itself was very nice and in a very nice location in center of Basel . Very good access to the tram system most of the museums and the old town pretty trendy place nice food and breakfast good atmosphere nice people. I’m assuming a safe location. The room is were basic but comfortable.

The Spalentor Hotel was a real surprise for us: the room was spacious, extremely clean, comfortable bed, very quiet room, exactly as we have requested.
The hotel is located near the downtown and in couple of steps from the Botanical garden with a free entrance.

Very nice hotel. The room was very comfortable and the location was great. Within minutes after walking and passing beneath the Spalentor your are in the old town.
Hotel Spalentor is a lovely hotel. The ladies working on reception were so friendly and offered us help with parking and also recommendations of places to visit in the city.
Our room was really nice, clean, and modern and the bed was really comfy. The hotel was literally across the road from the city gates. We were only a 5 minute walk from a local bakery to get breakfast. Basel was also absolutely beautiful! We would definitely stay here again if we visit again in the future.
We really enjoyed our stay at Hotel Spalentor. The staff greeted us with smiles and were very helpful in answering questions. The property was clean and the rooms were a good size. Just a short bus or tram ride to the train station or city center. I highly recommend the Hotel Spalentor.
Wonderful location right near Old Town and next to the Spalentor Gate, one of the remaining original gates of Old Town Basel. The bus stop was in front of the Hotel. The rooms were spacious and front desk check in was friendly and helpful.
Great location, spacious and clean room. Delonghi coffee maker in room as well as a stocked mini bar. Hot breakfast included in the room rate. Best of all was the extremely professional and accommodating staff. Can’t wait to return to Basel and the Hotel Spalentor!
Loved the convenience to Old Basel through the Spalentor Gate. Bus and Tram stops right outside hotel made trips around Basel and into France and other parts of Switzerland a breeze. Easy transfer to airport, Basel Card for free bus, tram. Reception always ready to make sure you get the right transportation.
Location is great, just walk through the Spalentor and you will reach the old town within a few minutes.
