We went just before the museum started renovating the exhibits. It is interesting but we are definitely looking forward to the new and improved version, especially the Indigenous Cultures/History area.

Must see! Great section on the Indigenous people of the area and how different they are from other provinces (which we unfortunately seem to lump all together). Great insight! They have an IMax theatre there as well and we saw the Turtle 1/2 hr movie which was very interesting! We ran out of time!

Excellent location for a quiet stay close to everything, especially for a the Royal BC Museum. The hotel has great character and attentive staff. The rooms are updated and the kitchenette is a major conveience. My favorite place to stay in Victoria.
Nice small apartment with kitchen on a great central location in Victoria, virtually next to the Royal BC museum. Good kitchen amenities and nice bedroom and friendly staff. Closeness to Beacon Hill park also a great plus especially when traveling with kids. We weren’t disturbed by sounds from the road.
Fabulous location. Friendly and accommodating staff. Lovely room with comfortable beds and kitchen facilities. We loved being in the heart of the inner harbour where we could easily walk to Beacon Hill Park, the Royal BC Museum and BC Legislature. Thanks for a great stay!
Can't beat the location in the James Bay district of Victoria BC. Just 2 blocks from the Inner Harbor, coffee shops,, restaurants the Empress Hotel, Royal BC Museum, and the Victoria BC Parliament building.
The staff, location and room are all wonderful. It is about 15 mins walk from the hotel to the harbor and 5 mins walk to the bus depot. The Royal BC Museum and Archives is about 2 blocks away. And the Miniature World is like 10 mins walk.
Lots of shops and restaurants around the hotel. It is a little away to Chinatown but walkable.
The room is clean, spacious and quiet. You can also leave your luggages with the front desk after checkout.

Enjoyed the size of the queen (more like king) sized bed and room. Love the location as it was within walking distance to the Victoria Public Market, the Inner Harbour, the Royal BC Museum, the Hotel Empress, the Legislature Building and Chinatown. The staff are friendly and hard working and the gentleman at the front desk made check-in go very smoothly. Definitely will return to this motel on another multi-day trip to Victoria.
