We absolutely loved our three nights at Hotel Cayara. Staying at this beautiful, historic hacienda was a highlight of our trip. We would love to come back. We enjoyed wandering around the gardens and took a hike past the waterfall to what is called the "city of rocks." It was absolutely beautiful. The location is very peaceful and serene. I absolutely look forward to returning.
The breakfast was a nice spread, with fresh eggs and homemade cheese. We had dinner at the hacienda two nights, everything was delicious. The staff went the extra mile to make us feel comfortable.
We recommend taking the museum tour of the house, and we learned it has so many interesting historical objects and seeing the older rooms and library was a treat. This is a very very special place.
We took a day trip to Potosi. We took a city tour and asked to go to the entrance of a mine, without going in. It was very interesting learning the important history of Potosi and Cayara!

I loved this guesthouse and the single room I stayed in. Very clean shared bathroom. Comfortable bed with lots of blankets and portable heater to keep you warm. Cozy vibe. Excellent location very closed to the Mercado Central. And, it was so quiet I didn’t need earplugs! When you come from Sucre the bus arrives at the new terminal. You can exit the terminal and take one of many minibus/colectivos that goes to the Mercado Central. If you go to Uyuni after, all the busses leave from the ex (old) terminal, which is also accesible with a colectivo from near the hostel. The staff were super nice also.
