Taronga Western Plains Zoo

Power and prestige. Toompea Castle stands on a hilltop once occupied by an ancient fortress. Today, it’s famous as a meeting place for the Riigikogu – the Estonian National Parliament. Request a tour of the parliamentary chambers online, or just wander around the Convent Building, the lush gardens or the impressive galleries lined with works by Estonian artists.

    Great and well worth visiting.

Great and well worth visiting. Enjoyed the open plains set up which gave us good viewing to the wildlife in a natural setting as close as you can get to their natural environment without travelling overseas. Feed a giraffe a carrot (it's like giraffe chocolate!) and avoid getting a tonguey! The Meerkat Manor is good to visit and the lions view gets you close behind a glass wall, you're in a cage!

    Absolutely amazing!

Absolutely amazing! We stayed in the Zoofari overnight cabin which includes zoo entry. Definitely value for money and worth every cent! Zoo is awesome! We did it via car first day then bikes the second day, def recommend bikes, super relaxing and stay around till the end of day! The animals are active and a joy to watch.

The closest you can get to being on safari without leaving Australia. So lovely to see the animals enjoying their extensive replica natural habits. Tickets are valid for multiple entry on 2 successive days ( tick box below the calendar when selecting date and booking on line ), so take your time to observe and enjoy. If driving stick to the 10 k speed limit as there are delightful creatures such as bobtail /shingle backs and blue tongue lizards and peacocks and wallabies that like to stroll across the roads as well.

If you take the kids there is a great water hole feature with waterplay park. Good way to finish off a morning with the kids and cool play in the large area. I would recommend 2 days to view the zoo if you have kids. So take a pair of swimmers for the kids. Parents will have to paddle. We drove around as it was pretty hot for us oldies.

Book your tickets online the day before as they are not taking eftpos at the ticket office due to Covid. It was a pain. Too bad if you have an old phone that does not have access to the internet, you are screwed. Zoo was great.
