An excellent location and the rooms are very clean, comfortable and all you need. I particularly liked the cute kitchen area that was well-stocked, especially as I had to leave at 4am. I'd just come from power cuts in Cygnet, so it was great to recharge devices, access wifi and get warm too. I appreciated the reception manager carrying my cases up the stairs when I arrived and also letting me check in a little early. The small lounge area has beautiful views - if you can get in it!

Wow!!!
Wow!!! If you don't know already this is a must do when in Tasmania. Spent a whole day there and enjoyed every minute of it. We went in winter time which gave us a nanoscopic inkling of the harshness of the day when it was a penal colony.
Would probably do this again.

Close to Port Arthur historic site so it makes it easy to get to. Room was just what we needed for just 1 night stay. Food at Bar was good. I thought it was a old Hotel but they told me it was build in the 70's.
The reception staff were exceptional, the room with the view of the river fantastic.
Had a couple of meals in the hotel both awesome.

Historic and authentic-looking hotel. Location - quite a few attractions between Hobart and the hotel. Clean hotel room with a nice view of the lake. Tranquil, country setting. Very close to Port Arthur settlement.
Meals in Restaurant were HUGE. Great food. Very comfortable room. Beds were comfortable. Linen was plentiful. Breakfast was only continental but lots of choices. So close to Port Arthur itself. Very clean. The staff were advised of a left item by phone the next day and were great in sending it on to another hotel for collection. Much appreciated.
Location to Port Arthur historical site is amazing. Dinner was amazing, but make sure you book, we stayed on a Mon night and it was packed. Resturant looks directly into the historic site. Staff are friendly and welcoming, highly recommended a drink in the hotel bar to meet the local characters. Everything about the room was great, awesome comfortable bed, great hot water pressure and no noise.
