It has a magnicent charm. One side living in a castle on the other side, the apartment is fully equipped. The renovated old style furniture's are also beautiful. My children just felt like princesses. The size of the apartment is super big. It is next to the yellow Wanderweg ideal starting point of excursions. RAX Seilbahn is only 900m walking distance.
The sauna was a big plus after a day of hiking in the mountains. The apartment is in a nice and overall quiet neighbourhood with 2 supermarkets at walking distance. Close to the schneeberg and Rax mountains. The bed was good although a bit to hard for my taste, but that’s preference…
The staff was really friendly but very busy because might be understaffed. Hotel, location - all was good after some nice hike and mountain climbing in the rax surrendings.
Our host, Zita, already called us before we arrived and we could check-in earlier than expected. She prepared several hiking routes (that was why we went there) and gave valuable advices.
The apartment was as expected, clean, nice furnitures, more than enough. Very good for a family with kids. The location is perfect for visiting the Rax and the mountains around.
Contrary to some other hotels the room is really like what you can see on the picture, big, cozy, comfortable and very clean!

The hotel belongs to the Raxalpenhof Hotel where there is an excellent restaurant with very high quality dishes from wild animals (deer, roe, chamois, boar) and fishes.
Amazing view of the Rax from the apartment, cleanliness everywhere, spacious rooms, modern and well-equipped kitchen (the huge fridge with freezer was super!). The owners were also very nice, we got great hiking tips from Zita.
A surprisingly large, beautifully furnished apartment. The hosts were extremely generous in every way - they let us arrive early and leave late, the kitchen was stocked with plenty of tea, coffee, etc. The restaurant downstairs is very good and offers a 10% discount if you stay at the apartment. Great point of departure for mountain hikes around the area. For snow-related activities you need a car - then you can go to the cable car station for snowshoeing on the Rax plateau or tobogganing in Prein or Semmering.
From the moment I arrived, I was warmly welcomed. A wonderful Alpine hotel with loads of character. Convenient for Rax cable car. Great getaway from Vienna (easy drive away). I intend to return!
Location at the foot of the Rax was stunning. Sauna and steam room a treat. Meals were excellent. Coffee at breakfast was really good. What I am most grateful for was staff friendliness and support when I had to figure out logistics of leaving the country early due to a sudden lockdown.
