Vienna is probably the nicest capital city in Europe, maybe even in the world. It is full of imperial glory, yet not too big, very easy to navigate, wonderful food, great shops, museums, parks and people. Very international.

Visited in December for the Christmas Markets. Shops were closed for Christmas and the day after so plan accordingly. Walked a lot and enjoyed everything I saw and ate. I could have extended my stay 1-2 more days to enjoy museums and cultural events.

The people of the City are the most kind, helpful and polite - that I have come across. Heartwarming.
We went to Volksoper, Statoper and Porgy&Bess Club - these were fantastic occasions, great music.
The Albertina Gallery is fantastic - would have liked to do Leopold and Mumok as well.
Schoenbrun was a bit rushed - better in summer
The Belvedere Gallery was fantastic.

Cultural events in Vienna, such as concerts and ballet are very nice.
Also, the museums are interesting and nice to be visited during winter time (not so crowded).
Otherwise, the city looks more and more like the ancient Babylon, in many ways.

We stayed in Vienna for one night, and the city truly captivated us with its rich culture, history, and stunning architecture. We thoroughly enjoyed the vibrant atmosphere and beautiful sights with our friends and family, making it a memorable experience.
Unfortunately, our positive impression was overshadowed by a troubling incident at the airport as we departed for Toronto. Our family was subjected to an excessively thorough search, including my seven-year-old children being scanned for explosives. We were the only family singled out for such treatment, while others passed through without similar scrutiny. The station supervisor personally oversaw the search, showing little consideration for the fact that we were a family.
This experience raised serious concerns about potential racial discrimination and the safety of my family. What intensified our distress was the refusal to accept or document our complaint, leaving us feeling unheard and marginalized.
I share this feedback to raise awareness, especially for visible minorities, and to advocate for all travelers to be treated with dignity and respect.

See reviews by guests who stayed at hotels in Vienna
We booked this hotel due to its location close to the centre of Vienna, and the relatively low cost for the room. The hotel is very old and arguably in need of a refurbishment. The room was very basic but did the job. The best thing is the location within walking distance to the metro and the city centre, but if I were you I would shop around for a better solution for your stay within the price range this hotel offers.
We arrived in Vienna when it was snowing heavily, so it was great to have a nice, warm, big hotel room for all three of us. The breakfast is good, and staff are friendly and helpful, including in arranging airport transfers. There is a tram station about 100-200m away from the hotel, but traveling to the city centre takes about 15-20 minutes, and tram lines often break down, so plan your travel accordingly.
Location of the hotel is great, close to main atractions so you can reach the city centre by foot. Also, we came to Vienna by car and staff let us leave our car till the moment of leaving the town which was few hours after check out from the hotel. Hotel is clean and beds are comfortable.
Overall, the hotel is really good, modern and new. The location is good to visit Vienna Zoo or schönbrunn palace. The bus station to the city centre is just across the street.
Rooms are tastefully decorated and we enjoyed the hotel’s bakery and restaurant. Perfect location with easy bus and metro access into Vienna’s city centre.
