As far as a city goes it is the cleanest of the large city capitals we have been to and we have been to most in Western Europe. Many taxis, and getting around was very easy with a good map. Excellent food and actually a little cheaper than the US in some high end expensive dishes. Our favorites were the Christmas concert with the Vienna Boys Choir at the concert hall and a performance of the Lipizzaner horses at the Spanish Riding School. I like classical music and the Beethoven museum was very interesting. We ate mostly Austrian dishes although we did splurge for Christmas dinner on American steak and potatoes and the steak was the best I have ever had in Europe, many decades worth. In one word, "enjoy".

Vienna: A Grand Imperial Capital steeped in History.
Vienna: A Grand Imperial Capital steeped in History.
Austria's capital captivates with its magnificent Habsburg-era architecture and rich cultural heritage. The city center, a UNESCO World Heritage site, offers an impressive concentration of historical landmarks. The guided walking tour provides an excellent introduction to Vienna's key sites, including St. Stephen's Basilica with its distinctive tiled roof, the opulent Hofburg (Winter Palace) complex, and the world-famous Spanish Riding School where the Lipizzan horses perform.
The city's café culture is an essential part of the Viennese experience, though be prepared for premium prices at iconic establishments like Demel. Their hot chocolate and Sacher-torte exemplify Vienna's refined pastry tradition, albeit at costs notably higher than neighboring Central European capitals like Prague and Budapest.
For history enthusiasts, Vienna is particularly rewarding. The grandeur of its parliament building, pristine palaces, and numerous museums reflects its status as the former capital of the Habsburg Empire. While the tourist crowds can be substantial, especially at major attractions, the city's historical significance and architectural splendor make it a compelling destination for those interested in European history.

Vienna is overall a very culture filled city.
Vienna is overall a very culture filled city. The architecture is amazing and the variety of museums, shopping centers and restaurants makes it worthwhile to stay for a longer time. I would suggest taking proper time to visit all museums as some require anywhere from 4 hours to a full day of visiting. The city is busy at all hours, however it is very easy to travel by public transport.

We were visiting Vienna at the beginning of December to see the beauty of Christmas markets, lights, palaces etc. It was an amazing experience. We would suggest visiting Belvedere Palace, Hofburg Palace, St. Stephen's Cathedral Rathaus Christmas Market etc. You can try amazing Austrian food and sweets at Cafe Landtmann and Plachutta Wollzeile. For the public transport you can buy Vienna City Card (very convenient).

Greatest architecture, royal castles and vintage vibe.
Greatest architecture, royal castles and vintage vibe. Great Museums, Perfect Zoo and all other sightseeing are wonderful. For the traditional food try OTTO Biergasthof bar/restaurant.
Public transportation is Viena works perfectly, without delays. All the types of transport are super comfy.
Try to arrange one day to go out from Vienna and visit two tiny towns: Salzburg (Mozart's hometown) and Hallstat (the village form Frozen II. This one is my favorite, it was the coziest and the most beautiful village/town I've ever seen). Both towns can be visited during one day.

I visited Vienna for a week on the early Spring of 2024 and stayed at the Hotel Stefanie.
Hotel Stefanie is the oldest hotel in Vienna and it does live up to the name. The hotel has a charming 19th Century atmosphere without sacrificing modern amenities. Rooms are super-clean and staff is very helpful and polite. The location is exceptional for anyone visiting the city centre.
Hotel Stefanie is not the most luxurious or biggest hotel in Vienna but it is great value for the price. I would not hesitate staying at this hotel again.
The Harmonie Vienna was superb! Breakfast had a lot of options for everyone, location was convenient just right outside the city centre (Innere Stadt) and the room was spacious with extremely good beds. The hotel even offered free tea and cakes in the afternoons which was a nice surprise. Special mention to Stefan - thank you for the very good customer service!
Ideal location of the hotel, in the city centre ! We liked the hotel, and liked the room we stayed in. The staff is very polite!
We liked living in such a beautiful location in the city. Wry close to many attractions, walking time about 1-15 minutes . We wholeheartedly recommend a trip to Vienna and a stay at this hotel.
Our stay in the rooms was very comfortable. The rooms are spacious, clean and very well heated. The location of the hotel is very convenient and the transportation to the city centre is both by metro and bus.
If we are in Vienna again we will definitely choose it again!
