Situated in Nelson, 7.4 km from Christ Church Cathedral, Nelson, Maitai Whare Iti - Adventure Cabins & House features accommodation with a garden, free private parking, a shared lounge and a terrace. Lush surroundings: the tiny cabins are set back into the forest. You sleep in total darkness and quiet. You awaken to bird song. There’s a hike right from the cabin, and owner Mark is full of good advice of 1,000 other things to do in the region. It’s a relaxed place with a shared kitchen kept neat and tidy and well-equipped. We were there as a couple and enjoyed meeting other travellers, but the place can also be booked for big groups which would be excellent for mountain biking enthusiasts and others. The climb up to the platform bed is pretty steep but the bed was cozy and firm and comfortable.
