The family-friendly Gasthaus Krone enjoys a quiet location right at the bus stop in Schellenberg. It features its own swimming pool, which is directly accessible from the rooms. The location is very beautiful, the hotel amenities are excellent, and there is even a pool. The breakfast is superb. Mountain view, beautiful panorama. Surrounded by untouched nature, the Waldgasthaus Lehmen can be found 4 km from Weissbad in the canton of Appenzell. It offers Alpine-style rooms and a charming restaurant terrace. We stayed 2 nights beginning of June. If you like traditional places, you should visit Waldgasthaus Lehmen. You would be surrounded by natural forest with a view on Appenzell Alps. One of the most common sound during the day is various bells on cow necks. We were lucky to see how Appenzell farmers bring their cows to the mountains. The farmers have very beautiful cloths! On Saturday we saw a group of farmers, who came in their traditional dresses to Lehmen restaurant and had a few hours of singing and enjoying food. The restaurant is very good, if you like Swiss food. You must be hiking in that region, otherwise food might be too heavy. I had pork steak, pork schnitzel and beef steak with noodles and mushrooms. All dishes were very tasty. You have to try local beer! And Lehmen whisky! Highly recommended! Very nice! Service is impeccable, fast and attentive. All personnel is very friendly. Breakfast is wonderful! I would prefer, if it started at 7 instead of 8… Our room 17 was great, soft pillows, comfy beds, bath, simple but cozy design. The hotel has a playground for kids. Parking is huge.

Eichberg’s Landgasthof Hölzlisberg has a barrier-free restaurant that serves seasonal Swiss and international cuisine. The Eichberg bus stop is 1 km away. Amazing stay with an unforgettable host that made our time here perfect. We loved the thoughtful and delicious breakfast with eggs, bread, yoghurt, etc. Great view and wonderful area. We also got great use of our Oskar Card! Highly recommend.
