High quality accomodation in a perfectly central location of this quiet town. All the amenities one could hope for. The updated bathroom is a work of art, and so high-tech! Be sure to make dinner arrangements early, reservation if at all possible, as once the clock hits 6:00 PM, it's very difficult to find somewhere that will serve you. Would definitely recommend.
Amazing keiseki-style breakfast and dinner, very nice Onsen, great staff, nice room.
Amazing experience staying at Keiko-san's guest house. She was so kind to our 8 month old son, and made sure we had everything we needed. After walking the Nakasendo way, we were treated to the most incredible kaiseki dinner. We slept so well on the tatami beds. Sad we only stayed one night, but it was anone truly memorable part of our trip.
Our host Keiko met our bus in the village and drove us to the guest house. Breakfast and dinner were excellent, beautifully prepared and presented. The guest house was very quiet & comfortable, Keiko super welcoming and generous. She handed us a bear bell when we set off for our walk on the Nakesendo trail to Tsumago-juku and had prepared a hot soaker bath with citrus for our return. Delightful!
Everything was perfect. Location is 5 min walk from Hirayu Onsen bus station which is super convenient if you’re planning on going to Kamikochi. Hotel also provides a shuttle bus service. Onsens were great, both the private ones and the one in your room. Staff were super friendly and accommodating. Views were absolutely amazing. Would highly recommend the half pension - dinner and breakfast were amazing! The resort also provides free Yakult, milk, ice creams and ramen. I cannot recommend this place enough.
Staying at Motomiya was a truly exceptional experience, anchored by the warm and genuine hospitality of the lady of the house. It is however the included dinner and breakfast that take this Guest House to an even higher level… truly extraordinary in its presentation!
Great view from the guest house. Dinner and breakfast were highlights. Owners were able to work with dietary restrictions on short notice as well.
