Hotel is very close to downtown action (100m) but the immediate surroundings are quiet, so i slept very well. Rooms are very large and really modern. I die not expect this for this price. Staff was very friendly and helpfull. Hotel has about 10 rooms, so it was never top populated or loud.

Excellent place. Arrival and check-in were smooth, and we stored our bikes without problem. Ate really well in the evening in their little restaurant and the was a good atmosphere with the other guests. Breakfast is included and was a buffet with all sorts of things and endless coffee. All in all a great experience.
Melk

Free high-speed WiFi and free private parking are available. Lovely room with its own hall between the bedroom and the bathroom. Very comfortable. Excellent breakfast, lots of choice. Staff were very helpful and friendly. The hotel couldn't be better located. 5 minutes walk from the train station. The restaurant also has a big choice of good food for reasonable prices.

The cabin it's cute very suitable for people looking to relax, deconect, read a book. It's not in the woods but has a big yard, with sunbeds, trees, a few roses and a cute dog. Inside it's rustic but you get air conditioner, hot water, toilet , TV and internet. Although the router has signal you will struggle with the internet, better use 4g connection. Over all we love it and we are sad that we couldn't booked for more days.
We spent one night at the location, of their pension house. Cozy modern tiny rooms, but still enough space for everything. Fine breakfast and dinner, very helpful and friendly people
From the reviews, we decided to come and stay an extra evening in Melk, rather than continue in Vienna, and it certainly did not disappoint. Large, spacious, modern and sophisticated, we lived in luxury for a reasonable off-season price. We later learnt that Der Goldener Stern also had a past as a historic inn owned by the Abbey. No staff were seen, and none were needed at this self check-in apartment. Radiator was great for drying washed clothes.
Breakfast was limited in choice but staff was really keen to help and provide. Quality of food was good and enjoyed two dinners too. I'd say if you like rustic local experience this is a decent place to stay although location is not central and it's not particularly charming.
The property was very traditional and in a lovely quiet location just below the castle district. Victor, the innkeeper was very welcoming and prepared a simple breakfast in the mornings.
New owner since the beginning of this year. The family also runs a restaurant/cafe and a vinothek at the Hauptplatz of Grein. They do a great job to make you feel good. They have an impressive covered bicycle parking space in the yard of the pension.
The owners were very kind, helpful. We felt like being family members. Pension is located in a very small village close to Melk and Shonbuhel castle. There is beautiful view on a small church right from the pension. Room was big and comfortable, so was the bathroom. Everything was very clean. The food was AMAZING! Real home cousin. We didn't even think to dine at some other place once we had our first dinner here. Breakfast also very good.

Walking distance to the town centre and the castle (up hill). Very quite, big house rebuilt into a guest house. Shared kitchen and dinning room.
