Perfectly situated to both explore mainland Orkney and catch the ferry, this room was extremely quiet and comfortable and the breakfast was absolutely superb.

The room was comfortable and clean with a small bathroom but with a good shower. Staff were friendly and pleasant. The restaurant supplied the breakfasts with plenty of choices and the lunch and dinner meals were excellent.
Great location, easy walking to all the shops and cafes in Kirkwall. Good service, breakfast and dinner in the restaurant was excellent.
The guest lounge also had catering facilities like microwave kettle and fridge so one could eat at Guest House instead of eating out all the time
Location was great, staff were friendly and professional, dinner was excellent. Decor was lovely. Linens and bed were very comfortable. View over the harbor from room 103 was fantastic.
Left early for ferry and the Jackie offered a packed one straight away - very unexpected and I thought really kind. Our dinner was really lovely- so tasty.
Location Comfort Dinners excellent
On the plus side the staff we meet were all fabulous there just weren't many of them. The breakfast was very good but dinner was not always available if a tour group was not staying. Location is good.
We loved the location and the very upmarket feel of the guest house. We could very easily hop on a local bus to go to the ancient standing stones, Skara Brae and the Italian chapel. The bus stops were just outside Grainbanks. We enjoyed the lovely freshly made fruit salad at breakfast and I was pleased to have GF toast provided. Albert and Aileen were delightful hosts who made us feel very welcome.
