Great environment, lots of space. I had a smaller double room which was plenty. Very clean and with Kettle, Iron and was very quiet (with the exception of heating the people in the room next to me when they talk).
Very good hotel, staff were very good, from the breakfast staff to dinner to the bar staff. Very clean hotel.

We stayed twice at the Welbeck - at the beginning of our stay and again on the last night. I really liked the hotel. Perhaps a little old fashioned but really clean, really friendly, really comfortable with the added bonus of there being a bar for a relaxing drink in the evening. We did not eat at the hotel so cannot comment upon the quality of food provided.

The conservatory restaurant was light and airy and spacious. The mainly young serving staff were friendly and helpful. The food (cooked to order) at breakfast and dinner was excellent. We asked for a corner room and the hotel was able to allocate room 204. This was quiet and spacious and bright with a window looking down the street to the sea. A few minutes walk down to the promenade it was an excellent location
Dinner in the Bar & Grill was excellent. Rooms were comfortable and they provided us with connecting rooms as per our request. There were plenty of charging points for our electric car.
We were on the 4th floor.Sea view room. It was perfect. Bathroom was spotless.We had dinner in the bar each evening and was gorgeous and very reasonable more than enough.The bar staff were very friendly and the people cleaning the rooms were very good.Location was great walking distance to everything. In other reviews people complained about the lift.Well I have to say we were there for 6 days and we were not left waiting. Would go back there in a heart beat.Thank you to all in The Empress Hotel for making our holiday such a happy event.
The location of the property was exceptional. The staff were all very friendly and helpful and assisted in calling a taxi for us whenever we needed one. The restaurant at the hotel has good fish and chips for dinner and a reasonably good breakfast too.
The location was the major reason I chose the Chesterhouse. The staff treated me great. Breakfast was fine although I usually skip the British style. The dinner menu had plenty to offer which I liked!
Very comfortable. A welcome relief from staying at hotels. It was nice to just relax in the living room, make dinner, and enjoy Ramsey.
