Brilliant location, the staff/our North American hostess were so friendly (they even gave us free cinnamon buns - yum!). The decor was lovely and the breakfast was delicious.

A clean and comfortable room with everything necessary for a short stay. Very convenient for bars and restaurants and the village centre. A big breakfast which kept me going until dinner at night.

Excellent breakfasts, and dinner menu, great location, lovely welcoming staff. Gorgeous gardens, including veggies. Loved the huge tv and cinema style chairs (not accurately described on website) Also loved the dressing room and laundry facilities. Everything was very clean and shiny! We liked having bbc iplayer

Ideal location within walking distance of ferry terminal, shops and the beach. Charming Guest house with a very friendly and helpful host. Beautiful garden and sweet single room with big bath. Great homecooked breakfast.

Loved our stay. Room was super comfortable, especially after a long hike. Location was perfect-- right off ferry. And had a delicious dinner.

The location of the hotel was perfect for my purposes, a leisurely cycle tour around Arran, but the setting of the inn is lovely, it feels secluded, with a river running close by, a lush garden to while the time away. My single room was small but the bathroom had a bathtub which was very welcome and everything was spotlessly clean. I enjoyed a few pints from the public bar in the sunshine outside and I had an excellent burger from the restaurant for dinner. All in all, this was a very pleasant stay!

The receptionist was extremely helpful and allowed us to change rooms. Excellent views from our balcony room in 2 comfy chairs plus comfortable bed. Easy 10 min walk into Lamlash where there were plenty of restaurants (our favourite The Drifit Inn) but a steep hill back to the Lodge

The Birlington Guest house is directly situated at the sea and only separated from the beach by the street. Very relaxing stay and a gentle owner Duncan who also is an excellent cook. We enjoyed dinner at the Burlington guest house. Clear recommendation.
