5 Minutes Airport Lodge offers free WiFi throughout the property and rooms with air conditioning in Kampong Patagas. The staff were really helpful, even offered to help me book my taxi at 2am if I struggled but luckily it was easy enough to find a grab car to get to the airport! The room was exactly as expected, basic but comfortable and clean. And the hotel was an easy 15 minute walk from the airport, just across the highway - there is a walking bridge, which I did during the day.

The Seraya Hotel is situated in Kota Kinabalu, within 3.5 km of Sabah State Museum & Heritage Village and 5.1 km of Likas City Mosque. So clean and new. It may be a small room, but it's perfect for a solo traveller

Amazing staff, we felt like being at home or part of the family. The room was very comfortable, good wifi and we loved the green area and the swimming pool. Our room was really spacious too. There are a few shops around with some cafes. We enjoyed being away from Semporna town as it was a lot more quiet. We definitely want to come back.

You need to rent a scooter or a bike to get to the city or around ‘cause no facilities nearby but otherwise it’s a very nice and peaceful place. The staff is super friendly and helpful. They also organise day trips or longer stays on the nearby islands.
