Located in Weitenegg on the Danube River, Wirtshaus Gruber offers direct access to the Danube Bicycle Trail and the Way of Saint James. Great location, friendly staff. I stayed here as a stopover while traveling along the Donauradweg. The host and staff are very welcoming and I certainly felt like I was home. The rooms are well organised, clean, and comfortable and offers everything you need for a good night's rest. The room includes a power socket with multiple USB ports which is perfect for charging all the electronic devices I use for cycling (watch, headphones, cell phones etc). The included breakfast is delicious and nurioushing-dont forget to try the homemade apricot jam! The on-site restaurant offers a wide range of tasty home-cooked meals and the outdoor area provides a wonderful setting with flowers and decorations. Just across the road, there is a nice little park which overs a great afternoon for relaxing and a swim. Look out for a view of Stift Melk in the distance.

Kirchberg am Wechsel’s Gasthof Grüner Baum has a large garden with vegetables, an à la carte restaurant, a ski storage room and it also offers private parking. The staff were very friendly and familiar. They really care about us as clients and try to make us feel great going the extra mile. They allowed us to safely keep our bikes in a garage with its own keys.
