Perfect for rustic breaks in the countryside, an Inn is a small property with basic hotel services and typically traditional decor. Inns are fully licensed and have a bar providing food and drinks in the evening, which distinguishes them from country or guest houses.
The location was great for travelling to the Volcano Park. We didn't have breakfast but dinner was great the night prior. The waitress was very knowledgeable about the fish we had and its source.
When we traveled there were many small earthquakes one of which did open our eyes a little, but we were assured by the staff this was nothing to worry about.
Great location, very close to Volcanoes National Park. The place is quite picturesque, and the rooms are neat and clean. Also very good dinner (not included), a bit pricey but that’s to be expected in Hawaii, and given that it’s pretty much the only thing around, nice that it was worth the money! Also they have a nature trail with lots of birds.
Beautiful grounds and a large room with a funky, fun-inspiring bathroom. The bath looked a bit like a lave tube but was still very functional. Sufficient parking. Wonderfully close to Volcanoes National Park main entrance. Food trucks in the area provided good takeaway dinners.
Very fun place to stay. No staff - you check in yourself. You can restock on your own for amenities. The bedroom and bathroom were on the small size, but the “lobby”/dinning corner of the room when you get in is big and you can leave all of your suitcase there.
Interesting design with the koi pond.
Considering that there is much more to see in Volcano than you can fit in a day, we loved this option to stay in town and be able to have a reliable, comfortable and central base at night.
The baked banana bread at welcome was a wonderful touch. The binder full of the area's facts and helpful tips were great to have. The kitchen was stocked with coffee and essentials to aid in our Christmas dinner execution. The heated mattress pads in each bed were so so great.
The room and facilities were excellent. The layout and supply of services and facilities was well thought out and outstanding. The national park and village are a short drive from the guest house and we looked forward to coming back to the guest house for a rest at the end of the day.
Perfect starting point for the Volcano Park, only 5 minutes from the entrance but literally in the forest so very quiet. Restaurants and shops within 5 minutes by car.
The Lodge has a very well equipped kitchen available if you want to prepare your food by yourself.
Jon the host ensures that the whole Inn is always very clean and tidy and he is also very helpful when you need anything.
