Laurel Inn, hotel in Gatlinburg

This property is a 10-minute walk from the central Gatlinburg strip. It features accommodations with free Wi-Fi and a kitchenette with dining area.

Well there wasn't much to like at this property. We booked online after looking for a couple hours and the description and pics were great. We checked in late around 9:30 and it took till after midnight to get the room warm enough to take our coats off. The fireplace was inoperable, water damage to the ceiling, cook top was inoperable, cheap and broken decor, lamps didn't work, not enough hot water for two baths just to sum it up. So when I called the property managers the next morning to let them know I was going to check out or move rooms we had a very rude lady tell us it's not refundable and we should had called maintenance at 10pm. So we took it on the chin till time for towels and linens to either been washed or exchanged and was given an address to go exchange the worn out towls from the run down condo. These people are rude and disrespectful and should change their pics and description online because it's bait and switch. We paid way too much for a dump.

The location was nice and everyone was very friendly. The inn itself is somewhat dated, especially the toilets! It was clean though.

Wonderful lodge, beautifully located in the forest. Breakfast and dinner available in two restaurants and a coffee shop. Although close to the highway, you do not hear the sound of the traffic

Sorry, this is the answer to the next question. I was disappointed with the pool situation. One shampoo and soap for four people. We wanted to bring dinner in and eat in the breakfast area and was told no. Cades cove Wednesdays open at 6am, but breakfast wasn't until 7am.

Old cracked dinner ware and cups. Fireplace not operating properly. Not worth the rate they charge. Beds were excellent.

The management of Dancing Bear has provided such amazing hospitality. The “hiking” gift basket with treats and waters was so thoughtful and appreciated. So enjoyed the granola. Love that there is a porch in back to go sit and enjoy the trees and being outside. The options for in room coffee with real cream in the refrigerator was so appreciated. Make sure you book the Appalachian Bistro on the property for a lovely dinner.

Staying at the Highland Manor Inn is like taking a step into the past, but in a good way. It’s like visiting the Smokies back before it became so commercial. The place it dated (they still have actual room keys), but everything is in great shape. Would definitely stay here again in the future.

We enjoy staying at Townsend River Breeze Inn because it's clean, price is right and it's quiet. Only 9 mile from Cades Cove. We took advantage of the swimming pool this trip, pool was great, water was very clear and everything was maintained really well. Just an overall great place to stay!

Townsend is my preferred place to stay when visiting the Smokies. The Highland Manor Inn sits up off the main road through town. It’s quiet, while at the same time within close proximity to places to visit, shop, and eat. The motel is not new, but my room was very clean. I loved that I could park right in front of my room. I even had a nice view through my window.
