Perfect for rustic breaks in the countryside, an Inn is a small property with basic hotel services and typically traditional decor. Inns are fully licensed and have a bar providing food and drinks in the evening, which distinguishes them from country or guest houses.
I had a wonderful 5-day stay. The inn's garden in the courtyard is beautiful. I very much enjoyed the breakfast. The location is very convenient. The wifi worked very well, and the TV had good selections. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful.
The location, the charm, and the lovely staff. Beds were so comfortable, room was large enough for us to visit with folks, access to out door space was so convenient.
One if thebmost lovely memories were mornings spent in the inn dining area...sobprovence and food was delicious.
The receptionist was very personable to a couple of moms traveling with a high school golf team. When we checked in she gave us the team room rate which was better than what we booked online — SCORE! She gave us advice on where to eat dinner at a late hour and let us leave "goodie bags" on the counter for the players. Breakfast was good for this type of hotel (small, a bit outdated).
We were passing through town and wanted to see a bit of Small Town Ohio. The Mt Vernon Inn was WAY nicer than we expected. Its just a lovely little place in a small town, where aesthetics (e.g. the garden, the breakfast room) really matter and it is such a nice break from the routine, exactly-the-same hotel you see across the country. If you need to be in Mt. Vernon, definitely give this place a try. Wonderful service, excellent breakfast and we will definitely be back whenever we pass this way. Bravo, Mt. Vernon Inn.
All the staff was friendly and made you feel like you were special. Felt that like one big happy family at the Inn.
Room very clean. Bed and pillows comfortable. Rooms decorated like yours would be at home.Gazebos you could sit at in the beautiful gardens. Breakfast provided. Private parking. Definitely will be going back to stay at the Inn when we come back to Ohio.
Thank you to all the staff for making us feel so welcomed.
