Set amid nature's embrace, my stay at Hale 'Aina, the Country Cottage, unfolded as an enchanting escape. The serene retreat emanated a warm, authentic country ambiance, instantly inviting a sense of home. A personalized touch in service elevated the experience, crafting a getaway that was both distinctive and immersive. With seamless access to outdoor activities and a harmonious blend of tranquility, Hale 'Aina emerged as a hidden gem—offering a peaceful refuge with rustic charm, even in the absence of culinary indulgences.
The home was easy to find and away from the maddening crowd, as my husband would say. The enclosed lanai was so peaceful. It was the best place to unwind after a day of sight seeing. Very affordable and good value for the price. We stayed 3 nights. Ate every dinner at Kaleo's. Not too far from house and excellent food. Located about 40 minutes from Volcanoes National Park. Good place to stay if you want to see the Hilo side of the island.
I wish I could give Ocean Breeze Inn an eleven! The location of this facility was three houses from the ocean and we could see it from our balcony. The communications from Andy was exceptional and the use of a washer and dryer with soap on site was a huge plus! The utility room where the washer was located also had plenty of trash bags, coolers, snorkeling equipment, and beach chairs that we could borrow. The cleanliness of our room was also exceptional.
