Perfect for rustic breaks in the countryside, an Inn is a small property with basic hotel services and typically traditional decor. Inns are fully licensed and have a bar providing food and drinks in the evening, which distinguishes them from country or guest houses.
It was very clean and cozy. We had homemade biscuits with cinnamon butter. It made it feel just like home.
Loved hearing the train whistle every day you can walk to the station and watch the train come in and leave again.
The property was fine. The rail trip was good. The two main breakfast places were good. Finding a place to have a good evening dinner impossible. The village of Chama needs to recruit at least two good restaurants for serving dinner.
We were in Chama for the train. The Cumbres Toltec. We stayed at the Chama Trails Inn and it was very nice and clean. The people were friendly. The bed was comfortable. The bathroom was modern had already been refurbished.
The staff were very pleasant and helpful. No breakfast, however, there is a very nice local dinner, "Fina's", right next door, that offers a very good breakfast selection.
Good communication with inn keepers and easy check-in. Great location - short walk to Cumbres & Toltec station. Suggestion for railfans - request a room overlooking the C&T rail yard.
They did not offer breakfast, but had a great dinner menu. Know that it IS an old, small-town hotel, small rooms, nothing fancy. But it is clean, comfortable, great location if you are there for the railroad (and who isn't?). Nice 2nd floor lounge area and balcony with view (see photo). Good value in my opinion.
Location was perfect for strolling a few yards for dinner at Local and breakfast at Elaine’s Coffee shop. It was also next to the Cumbres and Toltec Railroad station, so it we was perfect for watching the steam train depart. It would be a wonderful place to stay if one was planning to take the train. Our room was clean, quiet and comfortable, and the shower was awesome.
Very cute & really clean hotel. Owners were very friendly!
They gave us a recommendation for a dinner location, food was great.
