Beautiful historic rooms restored so they were functional with modern electricity, plumbing, and luxurious bed, comforters, and furniture. You wouldn't know the building was from the 1800s, except for the beautiful wood floors and high ceilings throughout. On site parking was great.
Perfect for rustic breaks in the countryside, an Inn is a small property with basic hotel services and typically traditional decor. Inns are fully licensed and have a bar providing food and drinks in the evening – distinguishing them from country or guest houses.
Liked the design of the inn, with beautiful gardens and amenities, including a computer for my use as a work station. Great to have breakfast in the morning, also having a microwave and refrigerator in the room.
Breakfast was fantastic, and the staff was very helpful. We had so much fun playing the gnome game. I should mention my husband is 66 and I am 53, and we have no little kids together. But it was very entertaining to explore the beautiful property in scavenger hunt style fashion. Super fun! Now we can't wait to come back when the gnome wood placards are all finished! Also appreciated the pool and the hot tub. The Luna Cafe is a beautiful space! And we enjoyed dinner there.
Overall quite satisfied with the stay. I like that the floor was not carpet, it was more convincing like this as a clean space. It is not the newest property but everything seemed perfectly fresh, nothing was particularly tired - except for the AC unit. The lady managing the breakfast was such a lovely person, really brightened up the room. Breakfast was more than what many Inns and Motels usually offer. It is about 10 minutes from downtown Ashland. There is also parking available and a Safeway across the street. I would stay here again.
I liked that the room was bright, clean and comfortable. Our room had a sliding door that opened on to a shared patio that had tables and chairs. We sat out there in the evening, it was nice. We have stayed at many hotels, motels and inns in Ashland and this was the nicest.
The property is as described, a ways out from Ashland on a winding road. That added to the charm and my ability to relax. We brought ourselves dinner to eat in the room and played cards. The room was very clean, the bed was comfortable, and the shower was nice. We were able to check in independently, but all the staff we did interact with were very friendly and helpful.
Stratfor Inn is within walking distance to all of the theatre venues and many restaurants in downtown Ashland. We didn't have to drive or park again once there.
Finding reasonable accommodations in Ashland can be difficult, especially with the Shakespeare Festival in full bloom. Timbers Inn provided a nice, air conditioned (it was over 100 degrees), clean room for a reasonable cost. When I first saw the reviews on Booking.com I wondered why a budget motel would get such high scores. Now I know. Clean, quiet rooms and very friendly staff make this an above average experience. Note: check out the Morning Glory restaurant 2 blocks away for the best breakfast I've had in all of Oregon.
The breakfast was the best hotel breakfast I've ever had. It is a sit down breakfast with a menu. We had a room with a jacuzzi tub. It was very big and relaxing. It was nice to sit on the porch in the evening and sit on the patio after breakfast. The Inn has a lot of charm, and is very quiet and welcoming.
