Perfect for rustic breaks in the countryside, an Inn is a small property with basic hotel services and typically traditional decor. Inns are fully licensed and have a bar providing food and drinks in the evening – distinguishing them from country or guest houses.
The Boltwood Inn is a beautiful historic stop in the center of quaint Amherst MA. The properly is beautifully restored, with charming accents and very pleasant staff. We had dinner and breakfast in the restaurant and the servers were spectacular. The food was also quite good. We walked along the main strip to see if any of the other restaurants got our attention and we were very pleased to choose the restaurant at the inn. The room was also very lovely with lots of light, a nice bathroom, and fireplace!
We had dinner which was wonderful, affordable and our bartender Keith was fabulous.
Your question you posed in this survey was how we would rank the breakfast but unfortunately when we arrived we were told that breakfast was not included. No biggie as we stumbled upon an amazing little bakery around the corner with homemade bagels and popovers. All the staff were exceptional. We never made it to the fireplace in the lobby but it looked delightful. Next time?
The hotel was charming, just like home away from home, clean and the staff were so friendly and wonderful. The dinner was outstanding. We just loved it!
Lovely inn within walking distance of the center of Amherst and Amherst College; across from historic Emily Dickinson house; beautifully restored and decorated; very nice breakfast; quiet and relaxing; parking available.
Good location, close to UMass and downtown. Amazing breakfast and home baked cookie snacks. Our room was lovely and very clean. But the best was the warmth, kindness and generosity of our hosts, helpful above and beyond. And the four beautiful kitties at the Inn were adorable.
Friendly service - oriented hosts, beautiful inn with fun public spaces, homemade breakfast to order, accommodated a vegan diet, great location. We'd go back again.
It was a nice place, quiet, and clean. The room had comfortable furniture and a large comfortable bed. The bathroom was clean with appropriate amenities. The breakfast was filling and good.
I left my car parked at the B and B and could walk where ever I wanted to go. The Emily Dickinson Museum is across from the Inn. You can walk from the Inn a short way up the street and find restaurants, taverns, and shops. Ann, the proprietor was very nice.
