Chamo's place was definitely our most favourite place on our whole trip. It felt like our home away from home. Mostly because the hosts (Chamo and Anita) were so lovely and kind. They helped us with organising transport and gave us lots of tips. We enjoyed our conversations together and practiced our Spanish. We even went together tot the market place to have a lovely lunch.
The place has everything you need: clean and well-priced rooms, a proper kitchen, a nice and sociable communal space, hot showers, etc.

We arrived in Arequipa, Peru mid-morning and were allowed an early check-in. The hostess,
who I believe was the owner, greeted us warmly. Our room was clean and comfortable, and the
showers were nice and hot. We stayed there for 2 nights before heading off to our next
adventure, but due to a change of plans (my husband’s altitude sickness) we returned to
Arequipa with no hotel reservations anywhere. We walked the 10-15 minutes from La Plaza de
Armas to the Chikan hostel crossing our fingers the entire way, hoping they had an open room.
They did and greeted us like family once again. The second room was just as nice as the first.
We also had a delicious hot breakfast every morning we were there. Overall, a very nice place
to stay in Arequipa.

Excellent location, directly opposite the amazing Monasterio de Sta Catalina and a short walk to virtually anywhere in the historic city core. Room was clean and comfortable, but not a luxury hotel - good value for money. Peaceful roof terraces with great views and comfortable seating, and even gas heaters. Breakfast was OK - not spectacular but no complaints. Staff were all very pleasant and helpful.

Well situated in the Historical Center district of Arequipa, San Gregory is situated 1.6 km from Umacollo Stadium, 3 km from Yanahuara Church and 800 metres from Arequipa Main Square.
The best part of our stay was staff and the location. We were so close to the centre square without the noise of being closer and the staff were truly amazing....super helpful and gave us so much insight into the city, food, history and safety of Arequipa. We also ate our first dinner there and the food was absolutely amazing!
we had the suite with our own roof terrace. The room was spacious with a good bed and nice bathroom. Breakfast was excellent. We also had dinner in the horel which was really lovely. Staff were superb.
A rustic hostel with really nice staff, a chill garden, cute balconies and overall charm and social vibe.
They offer a Colca Canyon tour that is good value for your money with great English-speaking guides and good accommodation, the food is a little lacking in quantity & quality though.
