It was more like staying in a very nice house rather than a hotel. The decoration in the rooms was very well done and it was nice to have access to the lounge / living room area. Definitely something special and not like your ordinary hotel experience. Breakfast was just continental but was more than sufficient for us with a selection of sweet rolls, bread for toast, fruits, juice and tea/coffee. The location is about a 15 min walk from the main downtown, but we didn't find this to be a problem and it was actually rather nice to be away from all the hubbub. Although the town is quite hilly, the walk from the hotel was quite flat.

Perfect for rustic breaks in the countryside, an Inn is a small property with basic hotel services and typically traditional decor. Inns are fully licensed and have a bar providing food and drinks in the evening, which distinguishes them from country or guest houses.
I had a wonderful stay here, it was so homely and the hosts were welcoming making sure I had everything needed for me stay. We cooked dinner in the evening and they helped me with my bags up the alley. Found a great spot on the roof too with a good review. Wish I could have stayed longer
The room was spacious and clean with a little balcony facing the inner courtyard which brings in lots of light. I enjoyed the authentic decoration. The bed was comfortable. In room refrigerator was a plus.
The breakfast included was delicious and the rooftop terrace gives you nice view.
Staying at Casa Zuniga is like experiencing a slow motion, at one's own pace, sensory kaleidoscope. It wonderfully mirrors its hillside Guanajuato setting (eclectic, vibrant and colorful). Kudos to Rick and Team Zuniga for their warmth and wisdom that well complimented/helped my stay (and Ari and Jimmy for nearby hiking tips). A cozy sleep, great breakfast to fuel a day's exploration of the city and back up for the panoramic late afternoon/sunset view. Then down or around for dinner and sights in the city center.
Rick and Carmen were fabulous hosts. The breakfast was muy sabroso and substantial. No reason to eat again till dinner. The property was a work of art - everywhere you turned there was a piece that Rick had made. Billy, Rick’s son in law took guests on a great morning hike complete with historical notes and a group of us went with Billy and Ari (Rick & Carmen’s daughter) to watch the Super Bowl. We were made to feel like part of the family. Oh and the views from the portal were amazing.
The room was bigger than it looked in the pictures and very comfortable, super clean and the AC worked great. It had a dinning room and a living room, very spacious.
I loved the historical well kept atmosphere of the hotel. The Mexican art use to decorate the room and building is very nice. I loved the layout of the rooms and the lobby/dinning area. I love the view from the balcony and the central location of the hotel.
Although it is close to Centro, the area around the inn was very quiet and comfortable.
Also, the owner is very kind and will give you recommendations and transportation methods.
our rooms were pretty, the beds comfy.
beautiful roof top terrace for dinner and views of the city.
staff very sweet but no English which I understand is my problem, not theirs.
