Staff was so friendly and helpful throughout our stay and made it so easy for us to find dinner reservations, get to and from the slopes, and make the most of our two days of skiing. We loved our stay at First Tracks!

This was one of the best stays in any pension house I had all over Japan. The hosts really made it feel like home. The owner took us to onsen every evening and we shared dinner/drinks in the evening as well.
Recently renovated and everything was really nice. Parking spots were available and it was a short walk up to the ski resort. If you were not going to ski during the day, you can work with ample space in the lodge to set up.

Had a delightful 2-night stay at Koguma no ie during a Nozawa ski trip. The location could not be better. Strap on your skis at the front door and you're a 30-second cruise to the chairlift. It is a short and easy walk to the center of town. Our room was clean, comfortable and very quiet. The owners were incredibly kind and prepared a great breakfast every morning. The bath at the end of a cold day was a very special treat! Adorable spot at a great value. Will be back!

Perfect for rustic breaks in the countryside, an Inn is a small property with basic hotel services and typically traditional decor. Inns are fully licensed and have a bar providing food and drinks in the evening – distinguishing them from country or guest houses.
We loved our time here. Service was friendly but always efficient and professional. Everything we needed for a fabulous ski holiday was literally right at our door step. Breakfast and dinner were included and these meals were generous and catered to all tastes. The onsen experience was precious. There is nothing like the hot pool outside with snowflakes swirling down around you!
Everything.
Taki was very accomodating, even met us on arrival at 2am! Apartment was spacious, very clean and warm. He supplied daily breakfast and dinner when we requested, great food and service from the bar.
Cosy communal lounge room with fire place to relax in.
Easy to communicate with and daily drop off and pick up from ski fields.
Couldn’t have asked for anything else.
Lovely host on arrival, the mountains were great for more experienced skiers. My children struggled as beginners, but this is perhaps because the resort was very icey at our time of visiting. Cosy cabin, our kids loved it!
The dinner and breakfast are really delicious.
And the Madarao Ski Resort is closely.
We enjoy the vacation on Madarao and this hostel.
All of things are great.
Exceptional staff. Lisa and her team always went the extra mile to make our stay comfortable.
The accessibility to the ski field, restaurants and rental hire are all just a short walk. Beautiful hot breakfast each morning. Delicious dinner if you choose to dine in. Comfortable beds. Bonus was the fabulous onsen downstairs which was very welcome after a day of skiing. Highly recommend staying here.
Right on the slope with everything you need onsite. Great onsen and big buffet breakfast, we had dinner included too which was good as could use at the buffet or other restaurant brian on site also
The breakfast was excellent more than enough to keep you skiing all day. The short walk from the ski room to the slopes.
On the nights that dinners were offered you got a fantastic meal. You were given recommendations for eating out and offered assistance to book a restaurant if needed.
Very friendly, family run pension. The staff are extremely friendly and inviting. It is very comfortable and the dinners and breakfasts are delicious, home-made Japanese dishes. Warm and good wifi. Excellent shared bathroom facilities plus a bathing area.
