Great location, easy walk into York centre. Staff all really friendly. Breakfast lovely, room warm and spacious. Tea/coffee topped up daily. Bed huge and very confortable, bonus little table and chairs in room was a nice touch. Great selection of drinks at the bar and there was never any noise from it when we went to the room.

Comfortable room in converted outbuilding. Very clean. Location great for walking in the area. Varied menu and drinks. Female manager very pleasant and working hard - never seeming to be away from her duties.
Family owned and managed inn, overlooking the pretty Georgian Market Square, offering a warm welcome, fine food, real ales and good accommodation.

we were travelling with two dogs. Dog friendly room was spacious with direct exit to the outside making it easy to go for a walk. Great location in the town. Super busy pub/restaurant with great selection of wines and beers. Friendly customers. Dinner was great as breakfast was so much more than we expected. Finally great staff, whoever we spoke to was really helpful
Perfect for rustic breaks in the countryside, an Inn is a small property with basic hotel services and typically traditional decor. Inns are fully licensed and have a bar providing food and drinks in the evening, which distinguishes them from country or guest houses.
Loved the staff. They are the most welcoming ever. It felt like we were staying with old friends! The room was comfortable and clean, the food was good, and the atmosphere was really fun. A lot of imagination went into the making of the inn.!
Room was smallish (we had 2 large suitcases) but was very well presented, clean, great decor and the heating/cooling was easy to adjust. Bathroom was excellent.
Bar and reception area was bright and extremely welcoming and comfortable. We ate out (other than breakfast( but the dinner menu looked excellent and the dining room very comfortable and welcoming.
A very pleasant stay indeed, located in a quiet area, fairly close to amenities on a lovely road with nice cafes a short stroll away and a good pub called Winning Post handily located across the road which was perfect for ale and food, the guest house was not too far away from the bustling centre of York either. There are good bus connections with stops close by should anyone not fancy the 15 minutes walk. The room was exceptionally clean and the bed was very comfortable too. 🙂
The warm welcome, from the beginning of our stay, the room was clean and warm, bright. Breakfast was not included, but , we where fine with this, as we got our brekfast at pub , on main street nearby. We will certainly be back, at this lovely little Guest house, very soon !
The aesthetic of the Inn is beautifully rustic, the food is first class, the ales are abundant, the rooms are named after each of the conspirators, and you can even buy the signature Guy Fawkes pint glasses as a souvenir of your stay. It's simple, elegant, and really leans into its history, leaving me grinning at every reference to the Gunpowder Plot decorating the Inn. It's one of the best places I've ever stayed.
