The most exceptional warm welcome you could ever imagine! My partner and I (along with our little dog) stayed for two nights in a very well facilitated room, and had two wonderful dinners and breakfasts. The Royal Oak is very well located for the beauty of Exmoor and its superb walks on offer. Highly recommend and cannot wait to visit again in the very near future.

We received a lovely, warm welcome and were made to feel part of the :family". The food was outstanding. Breakfast was excellent and dinner menu for choice was varied and appealing. Service always attentive and friendly. Very comfortable rooms with everything to hand. The Royal Oak had a lovely warm atmosphere. Excellent location for touring and for seeing National Trust properties. Also, close to many attractive locations and the sea.

Hello, It's difficult to write reviews when there are no comparison options. But Jane and Stevie are a couple that is second to none. The way you interact with your guests and yourself is an experience you won't forget. We stayed there for 3 nights and the dinner evenings were unforgettable. Quality of the food, presentation, no rush, there was a lot of love behind every course, what more could you want. Thank you, it was a nice 3 days. Ivo

The owners were very friendly and accommodating, even though we arrived a bit late - keeping the kitchen open a little late for us and saving us a cosy table in the bar. They chatted with us a little after dinner and shared some local recommendations. The room was bit, quiet, clean and comfortable. Breakfast was good. Easy to park nearby even though we arrived late.

We loved the location and the wonderful atmosphere created at the Inn by Jane, the owner and innkeeper! She was friendly, open, kind and a great help in assisting us in planning routes and things to see and do. The food at the Inn was amazing! We ate there every night! The Inn tends to attract interesting and well traveled patrons making a drink and conversation in the pub very stimulating! We will come again and stay much longer than four nights!
