The Lion Inn, hotel in Winchcombe

Formerly a coaching inn dating back to the 1500s, The Lion Inn is situated 15 minutes’ drive from the large spa town of Cheltenham and features an on-site restaurant and bar.

Room very dark not enough lighting and very sloping floor. Tacks in wardrobe door kept catching our clothes. Tiny shower room and temperature gauge not working properly on shower wither too hot or too cold. Breakfast was nice but dinner choice menu very limited.

The Mousetrap Inn, hotel in Winchcombe

Situated in Bourton on the Water and within 32 km of Cotswold Water Park, The Mousetrap Inn has a bar, non-smoking rooms, and free WiFi.

We booked b&b. Room was lovely, warm and clean. Breakfast was excellent and we decided to have our evening meal at the inn also, which was very nice indeed. Bourton is a lovely place to visit and the Mousetrap Inn is very close, just a 4 minute walk.

I booked the White Hart Inn as a hotel whilst solo-hiking the Cotswold Way. The location is right on the trail, perfect for hikers. The Inn is a lovely, characterful old building which retains a lot of its original features. I booked the room with two single beds as I was travelling alone. The description said 'shared bathroom', but I was delighted to find this still meant I had my own en suite! Dinner down in the pub was delicious, and the shower with The White Company ameneties was welcome after a long day walking.

The Lion Inn is a lovely old coaching inn with bags of character and a great vibe. The staff were pleasant but rather disorganised in the dining room.

Back within a week. This time we included dinner. This was really top notch. It was also very much appreciated that the hotel sorted us a simple separate breakfast after everyone else as I was running a race early in the morning.

Outstanding value for money. Nice modern room within a rustic inn on classic Cotswold high street. A great combination of old and new. Lovely bed, linen, toiletries, nice en-suite with good shower. On-site pub and restaurant but unfortunately I didn't have time to sample these.

I was lucky enough to stay in newly-remodeled Room #9. It is the perfect combination of rustic and chic, and I enjoyed the comfortable bed, soaking tub, and roomy bathroom. Staff was friendly, and food and drinks were delicious! This was my favorite of four different inns we stayed at on our walking trip.
