The restaurant produces superb food, amazingly fast, plenty of options, and always piping hot and cooked to perfection. The breakfast fried eggs are the best I have ever had in any hotel.. and the chef is fully prepared to go off menu and satisfy my standard request of "Can you do just 3 rashers of bacon and 2 fried eggs please?"..
They could survive as just a superb all day restaurant. Being able to stopover is a bonus...

The Cottage was a lovely property, ideally located in Willington. Opposite the train station, next door to the Dragon Inn and decorated to an outstanding level. The stay was very comfortable and the bathroom facilities were excellent.
This accommodation was a little gem of a place, ideally situated for us with the canal nearby for walks, Mercia Marina 5 minutes away for shopping and all the local pubs and restaurants fab BUT the Dragon where we ate for dinner and breakfast was fabulous and the staff were so friendly - this will definitely be our go to place in Willington now - as for the room and bathroom - stunning! Thank you for a fabulous stay :)
Very comfy bed with feather pillows, quiet location at the back of the building. Lovely convenient pub next door - I ate both dinner and breakfast there. Food of good quality with friendly staff.
Great room and location. Comfy bed. The Dragon had a good choice of vegetarian options for dinner and would recommend visiting the bumblebee cafe for breakfast.
Fantastic facilities for a guest house, with a kitchenette for guests to use and a shared lounge and garden area, within walking distance to
local village and pubs. It was spotlessly clean. Rooms are a great size, I booked the cozy double which was as I expected and it had a lovely new en-suite with a walk in shower. Free use of a proper coffee machine and refreshments were also provided in my room, lovely little extra touches and super helpful hosts to check in and greet on arrival. I will definitely return in the future.
The location was in the village of Willington, adjacent to the Dragon Inn and a very short walk from the canal. The room in The Cottage was comfortable and quiet with good shower facilities.
Great location by the canal next to Dragon Inn and easy check in and check out. Lovely walk along the canal to Mercia Marina. Booked 5 rooms for friends and used as a base for a wedding at Osmaston Park. Clean, comfortable and well presented rooms. Great evening meal at the pub.
What a fabulous guest house! Hazel was very accommodating about the fact I had no idea what time I was checking in and indeed checked in late! The room was beautiful and it was a wonderful location. Only sad we didn't get to spend longer there!
So cosy, you'll feel like at home, it's a nice atmosphere & furniture, especially in the building that's in the courtyard, and it seemed clean to me. I would recommend it and I would come back.
Staff is friendly and do what they can to help out - for example to find an alternative taxi service for me.
I didn't have time to try dinner or breakfast, but I could feel good vibes both indoors and outdoors.
