The breakfast was excellent and cheerfully served, and the dinner likewise. It was nice to have a bath in the room, and I enjoyed the fact that the place had been 'licensed since 1320' (although documentary evidence confirming this may be elusive!)

Fantastic pub and accommodation in a lovely setting on the banks of a tidal creek. Not busy that day so there was lots of parking and room in the restaurant. Lovely dinner and fantastic breakfast. Enormous bedroom with views of the creek, very quaint and very comfortable.

Nothing. After driving 150 miles with friends just arrived from Australia we were told that the hotel didn’t have our reservations. This was despite me showing them our booking.com confirmations, recent emails etc, and the fact that I had rung the day before to book a table for dinner. O any other accommodation The attitude was “this just happens sometimes” The only thing they did was offer to see if the hotel up the road had rooms, which thankfully they had as nothing else nearby.

They made me a special chicken rost dinner when I arrived as I didn’t eat anything on the menu. Breakfast was ok but other than the cooked breakfast there wasn’t much choice with the other bits like milk, cereal, yogurt etc it may have been because I was the only guest eating breakfast. The cooked breakfast’s there was lots of choice and the full cooked English breakfast was beautiful and very hot and would definitely have it again if I stayed again.
