The Compasses, hotel in Thaxted

Situated in the quiet hamlet of Littley Green in the heart of the Essex countryside, The Compasses is a Victorian Pub steeped in history and tradition.

What a lovely Pub. Very Nice staff, friendly locals, a busy vibe as people obviously used the pub for their evening meals and to socialise with friends after work. We had a comfortable twin room which is a purpose built annex next to the pub. the room had everything we needed, was warm, clean and comfortable. We got an uninterupted, comfortably nights sleep And a fabulous breakfast. The Chef at breakfast was such a nice man and made us fee really welcome. Good value for money.

We got a lovely welcome when we arrived. When we first arrived in our room there was a strange noise so we were very kindly upgraded to another room that was perfect and we were very grateful. We had dinner in the hotel which was very tasty and a lovely breakfast with good choice the following morning. The hotel is right on the high street and opposite the church. There is parking at the hotel.
