The room was so cosy and clean, the breakfast selection is lovely there was plenty of everything. We arrived very late, gone midnight as we were at a wedding and the manager had set us up ready to go straight to the room with no difficult check in. Was spot on.

The Pyewipe, hotel in Sutton on Trent

The Pyewipe has a rural setting beside the Roman Fossedyke canal, with views of Lincoln Cathedral and castle. It is a 20-minute walk from city centre and the historic quarter.

The room was excellent, clean and comfortable. Because I arrived past midnight the key was left in a pre arranged place. I also left early so didn't manage to get a breakfast, although from what i smelt it would have been delicious. Will definitely go there again should I find myself in Lincoln.

The Forest Lodge, hotel in Sutton on Trent

The Forest Lodge is an event venue and 18th century pub located in Edwinstowe, 320 metres from beautiful Sherwood Forest and next to St Mary's Church which is a historic Grade I listed parish church...

I liked everything about it. Oldie worldly decor in the main building, very modern in the bedrooms. Great location and good that it had its own car park. The staff were really nice and helpful. Food was excellent, freshly made. I would highly recommend a stay there.

the rooms were accessible from the carpark, it was a stable like construction. so much easier, specially when travelling with a dog, not having to climb stairs. the staff consisted of young lads, very polite and helpful. dinner was really tasty both nights and the whole pub was dog friendly, guests even taking selfies with my dog :) there was a live rock duo playing one night which i could hear from the room - a plus for me but others might not have liked it.

We were breaking up a long journey with an overnight stay and this was the perfect alternative to "motorway services" chain hotels. Our dogs were welcome, we had a fantastic dinner in the pub and the rooms were spacious, well-equipped and comfortable. Although breakfast wasn't available on weekdays, the staff pointed us towards the village delicatessen for a bacon roll - Perfect!
