Perfect for rustic breaks in the countryside, an Inn is a small property with basic hotel services and typically traditional decor. Inns are fully licensed and have a bar providing food and drinks in the evening, which distinguishes them from country or guest houses.
Lovely inn, rooms were decorated in keeping with the age of the Inn. Staff both in the restaurant and on reception were very friendly and welcoming. Food was good.
We stay at The Harvard Inn every time we visit this part of Essex, where we lived for 30 years. Good location for us to visit friends. Convenient to get into London via Billericay or Shenfield stations. Rooms are very clean, beds way too hard for us, but probably suit many others. Staff all lovely and helpful. Breakfast is very good but we’d prefer option of either no breakfast, or just a croissant/pastry & coffee 😊 Meals in the restaurant have been excellent every time we’ve eaten there.
Breakfast and the bar and garden were very good. We had dinner over the road at the Bear which was excellent. Its was in a great location with at least three dining choices which were all good.
The staff at The Harvard Inn were so welcoming and attentive.
I was attending a wedding at a hotel down the road but had forgotten to pack my cardigan for the wedding day. The lady on Reception said if she'd known, she'd have brought one in for me to borrow.
The venue itself is full of character, well organised and full of character.
The Harvard Inn was a beautiful property with such a homely and welcoming vibe. I loved the taste of decor and the choice of furnishings around the hotel creating a rustic and relaxing atmosphere. Everything felt very clean, the beds were comfortable and the showers in the room had great water pressure and temperature . I would definitely recommend this hotel to those considering booking.
