Stayed here while attending a wedding nearby. The Inn is in a lovely and scenic part of West Yorkshire. The staff are very friendly and the rooms are spacious and comfortable. I had a full English for breakfast and the food was delicious, the black pudding stood out as extremely tasty.

The Griffin Inn, hotel in Halifax

Pleasant room with nice ensuite - shower not that powerful but I think that was user error rather than an inherent fault - noticed a cord hanging from the ceiling after I had finished showering which I suspect boosts the power

We visited Piece Hall in Halifax and wanted to stay somewhere reasonably local but with a bit of character. We chose The New Rushcart Inn & Country Dining - Absolutely no regrets. Friendly staff, good food, waitress was really nice and attentive, great beer, really nice room (we stayed in room 3) Everything spotlessly clean, really nice breakfast, also loved the stained glass window in the bar area.

Dinner was excellent. Went for the Tapas menu. However, we would have preferred the dishes come out as they were ready and not have to wait until they were all cooked. This has been our experience in many other tapas bars.

The bedroom was big and comfortable, with a lovely four-poster bed. The restaurant offers a good variation of dishes with great portion sizes. We enjoyed both dinner and breakfast at the Lion, and appreciated how well-balanced and fresh the meals were.

Very comfortable room and dinner was exceptional. Staff very personable too. Overall very good value for an overnight stay. Ripponden and its immediate surrounding area is well worth exploring (especially the pubs!) . It won't be on the radar of many I suspect, but to my mind an outstanding part of the county, if not the country.
