The Raven Inn, hotel in Ruthin

Located in Ruthin, 29 km from Chester Racecourse, The Raven Inn provides accommodation with a garden, free private parking and a bar.

Beautiful village location nestled in the Clwyd hills, with a wonderful village pub atmosphere. The room was excellent; very spacious with a nice big and super comfortable bed, and also a sofa and very well equipped kitchenette. We ate dinner in the pub and the food was excellent. The staff were all very friendly and welcoming. Being able to have the dogs with us was a real bonus

Prince of wales pub and accommodation, hotel in Llangollen

Set in Llangollen and within 40 km of Chester Racecourse, Prince of wales pub and accommodation features a terrace, non-smoking rooms, and free WiFi. The inn has family rooms.

Everything except the back wrought iron stairs upto the property as they ate steep and would be treacherous in bad and icy weather

Dinner on the first night was delicious. Huge open grounds with peacocks and sheep roaming around. It is only a short walk into town for many local shops, cafes and restaurants. A lovely beach was only 30 to 40 minutes drive away.

Our entire stay at Ruthin Castle was very enjoyable. We were welcomed warmly and very quickly shown to our room and the rest of the necessary locations within the castle grounds. Our room was of a good size and was well appointed, with everything that we needed for our stay, albeit a small bathroom in comparison to the size of the room. We enjoyed the grounds of the castle and dinner in the Tavern was well done with friendly and professional staff. Breakfast was a simple affair, without any special offerings.

We loved everything from arrival to departure, if we could have changed our plans to stay longer we would have! We weren't very hungry at dinner so we just ordered three starters to take to our room! Well the amount of food we got was amazing and delicious! Breakfast was also fresh, hot and tasty (replenished regularly). And the staff!! So helpful, friendly and absolutely refreshing to talk with

The staff were very welcoming, the room was large and well laid out & exceptionally clean. We had dinner in the restaurant which was excellent. Breakfast was great, with cereal, yoghurt and fresh fruit - I recommend the full Welsh! All in all, a fantastic place to stay.

The Raven Inn was located well as a stop on the Offa's Dyke Path, in a really tiny village (you need to try the pastries and cakes in the community shop!). The Raven Inn's pub did not serve food when I was there, but the owner was so kind to drive me and another traveller to another one nearby. The room was fine: good bed, and nice to have a small kitchen with hot drinks included (tea, Nescafé, cocoa). No check-out, so you can leave at the crack of dawn if you'd want to.

Check in/out was easy. I had chosen a bigger room than originally booked and it was great for the few extra dollars (turned out to be a family suite). Being able to eat dinner and breakfast there was a huge bonus. Staff were friendly and helpful. Room overlooked town square and with additional slide up window made the room very quiet. Facilities were excellent.

Our innkeeper Joy was a joy! We arrived just before the restaurant closed and were able to order a scrumptious steak and ale pie! Our room was roomy, kitchenette that we used when the pub was closed. The locals were very friendly and we loved visiting the St. Garmon Church across the street.

The room was very clean and really cozy. My daughter joined me the second evening, however she was going to miss the roast dinner, the staff kindly made her one for me to warm in our room upon arrival. We also had great weather so was able to get out and about and see the lovely village some more. They had a lovely band playing on the Sunday afternoon the pub was very busy.
