Perfect for rustic breaks in the countryside, an Inn is a small property with basic hotel services and typically traditional decor. Inns are fully licensed and have a bar providing food and drinks in the evening, which distinguishes them from country or guest houses.
Perfect venue, great walks from the doorstep. Very well appointed rooms with thoughtful touches for a very comfortable stay. Brekky & dinner lovely. Staff delightful & sooo helpful. Would love to have stayed longer...
We certainly recommend this place. The Chequers Inn has good food, it is in a really good location to have as a base to see the Island, it has a nice selection of beer (the wine menu didn't look too bad either) and our room was large with a comfy bed (always important) and the staff we're really nice.
Perfect getaway venue. The Inn was just what we wanted, comfy room, excellent staff. Food was incredible and would definitely recommend and come back again!
Staff were excellent. We were a very last minute booking because our ferry was cancelled but they were all outstandingly polite, good natured, helpful and accommodating. It was clean, spacious, surprisingly well sound proofed from the main pub, lovely and warm. Dinner and breakfast both offered a lot of variety and tasted great.
The location is really good, views are fantastic and good road to anywhere you want to go on the island. Breakfast was amazing. Such a choice and willing to adapt anything to your choice. The evening menu had lots of choice and was well cooked and presented. The staff were fantastic, so helpful and cheerful. A credit to themselves and to the Chequers Inn
The Chequers Inn is full of character. The staff are all welcoming and kind. The food provided in the restaurant is of exceptional quality and huge portions. The bedroom was well presented, clean with many extras provided. Our family room had a very large deep bath as-well as a walk in shower and 2 sinks. The view was amazing from our window. The whole property is very well maintained and clean.
