We stayed here for four nights and it was absolutely amazing. Christel was so lovely and an amazing hostess who provided an amazing breakfast. The location was really convenient and she gave us great suggestions for dinner and activities to do around the area. I would definitely recommend her.

Very friendly welcome from Alison. Catered for our vegan colleague and nothing was too much trouble. Helped us with recommendations for dinner and was able to accommodate bicycles etc.

Great welcome from the staff, on a busy evening, they were attentive and responded quickly to my arrival. Shown to my room. Dinner was hot, cooked well and tasty. Breakfast staff attentive and polite. Room was clean, and had everything I needed. I particularly liked the fact the room had plenty of tea bags and milk, and good sized mugs and a teapot. A rare thing these days, but excellent to see.

We stayed in The Ashberry Guest House in Penrith on our way from Essex to the Isle of Arran, it was ideal to break up our journey. Phil was an excellent host, he was very friendly and helpful, giving us advice on where to go for dinner. I am a coeliac and Phil and his wife had very thoughtfully put gluten free biscuits in our room, they had also got gluten free muesli, bread and sausages for my breakfast. It is so appreciated when people make the extra effort. We would definitely stay here again 😊

We stayed at The Ginney guest house for a night. The owners very welcoming and hospitable. The breakfast was beautifully cooked and well presented. The room was comfortable and the guest house close to the lakes and a town with good pubs and restaurants.

Historic inn with great character, good beer and food. The room was clean if a little on the small side. The bed was comfortable. Breakfast was very good. The only addition we would have liked would be fruit.
