Breakfast, cooked by Richard, was excellent. The whole team are superb: attentive, helpful, friendly and knowledgeable. The sign in the bar, "Arrive as strangers, leave as friends" is 100% accurate. Nothing is too much trouble, if it can be done, it will.

A busy, locals place, that we felt very comfortable in due to friendly staff and locals. The room was comfortable and a good price

Great location, friendly staff & just what we needed for our hiking trip
Perfect for rustic breaks in the countryside, an Inn is a small property with basic hotel services and typically traditional decor. Inns are fully licensed and have a bar providing food and drinks in the evening, which distinguishes them from country or guest houses.
great location to town centre. very clean accommodation. very good breakfast. check in was 4pm but i let them know i was arriving around dinner and they had the room ready for us when we arrived. nothing was to much trouble for them. would definitely stay again.
The hotel is well located and easy to access. The staff were all welcoming, helpful and friendly. The room and bed were comfortable, with a good shower in the bathroom. We had dinner in the restaurant, the food was very tasty and great value. The breakfast offered a good range of choices and was plentiful and tasty. Throughout our stay all of the staff we encountered provided great service. We would recommend Cubley Hall Hotel without hesitation.
Excellent location a mile out of Penistone and overlooking the surrounding hills. Staff were friendly and helpful. The room was small but comfortable with excellent temperature control. It was light being dual aspect having windows to the front and the side. Dinner (not included) was particularly good and the breakfast fine. Good shower room.
we had our dinner with friends in the resturant and breakfast
the following morning. All excellent, nice waitress very helpful and friendly. Room was newly decorated and tastefully done.
Nice location and value for money. The breakfast was nice and enjoyable not too busy . The staff was helpful and made the stay relaxing. We had dinner because in the location there wasn’t a great deal of choice, but glad we did really nice food and affordable
Thank you for hosting us on our recent visit to friends and family in Sheffield.
We found the staff very friendly and welcoming and the accommodation clean and comfortable.
We stayed for breakfast which was great and very generous.
We met up with friends in the restaurant for dinner. Our friends really enjoyed their meals but unfortunately my wife’s and mine were a little disappointing.
On the whole though, I would definitely recommend Cubley Hall to friends, and the setting in the Penistone countryside is super
Charming old building in quiet country surroundings.
Good value, the menu looks good although we had already booked dinner at a restaurant in Stocksbridge, but breakfast was exceptional, cooked to order, quality ingredients.
Good pint of beer before we headed out, and reasonably priced.
Staff very pleasant and helpful, needed an iron and board because I'd come straight from work, they were there within 5 mins with a smile!
We are very likely to stay again when visiting family
Staff were very friendly and helpful. Bedroom was spotlessly clean, as was the whole hotel. Dinner and breakfast were delicious and it was good to have a variety of places to sit to eat - inside and out. We would not hesitate to stay again.
Really quirky old building that's been modernised. Rooms were a good size and beds were really comfy. Staff were attentive and knowledgeable and breakfast was really good, as was the dinner -portions are huge!
