The Brotherswater Inn is surrounded by Lakeland fells, it's an amazing location. Getting there, either from the north or from the south, is by a road that is narrow, undulating and with lots of bends, but once you are there, you want to stay... The service was friendly. The room was nice and clean. We loved watching the house martins flying in and out of their nests under the eaves. We enjoyed the one dinner we had - portions are generous so my wife was happy she chose the half portion option. The breakfasts were fine.

Everything went well. Breakfast included a full vegetarian option. Dinner: The vegetarian curry was delicious. There was so much, I couldn't eat it all. Location: Despite our room facing the road, it was so quiet and restful.

We liked the location. We liked how it was pitch black outside no lights so we could view the stars. All the staff are friendly and approachable with knowledge of what is around the area. If you book a table for dinner, there is no time frame or hassle to eat up. The log fire keeps you warm especially after a cold, wet day. A good cooked breakfast to order. All meals were hot and have not sat under heat lamps. The rooms are clean and tidy.
