This was a little stop over on our way up to Scotland. We were met with a very warm and friendly welcome and were able to check in straightaway. The family room was perfect, with a full sized single bed in addition to a king size. Both were extremely comfortable. We ate at the Inn on both evenings - WoW! You won't leave hungry - very much enjoyed our meal on the first night and decided to eat there again on our second night. The Inn is very dog friendly and we felt that our stay, including food, was very good value for money.

The Devonport, hotel in Darlington

Located in Darlington and with Middlesbrough Cathedral reachable within 22 km, The Devonport provides express check-in and check-out, non-smoking rooms, a restaurant, free WiFi and a bar.

I had a flat as it was the only room left on that particular day. I was a solo traveller there for one night so it wasnt of great benefit to me but if you were there in a couple it would be a great base as it also comes with a reasonably sized kitchenette. The views over the countryside are superb. The hotel is cosy, busy with a lively atmosphere and reasonably priced menu and drinks.

The room was comfortable and dinner and breakfast were ecellent. The staff are friendly and approachable. The hotel needs to advertise the close location of an EV charger, as this was a bonus that I had to find myself.

Breakfast nicely cooked and help yourself,. Room decent size and nice to have a bath in it but walls a bit thin and could hear next door. Dinner also good but a mix up with the order going missing so ended up waiting 40 minutes for it, staff very apologetic and gave us a free drink

Location was perfect. Great Pub, good room, comfortable bed. Small but perfectly adequate bathroom with an excellent shower. Very good dinner with reasonably priced wines, good breakfast, food freshly cooked on scalding hot plate. Friendly and efficient staff. North Allerton is a great town with some excellent shops, lots of pubs and various places to eat. Would stay there again if I was in the area.

What a splendid little B&B. Elegant, comfortable. So many nice touches. Beautiful and historic common and breakfast rooms. Wonderful tea service and breakfast. Rooms come with fresh fruit, chocolate, tea/coffee/water (sparkling and still!). Our room had a view of the lovely garden. Excellent restaurant (Origin) around the corner for dinner. Very quiet (once the early evening church bells finish!). Private parking in back.
