The Plume of Feathers, hotel in Newquay

Set in the picturesque Cornish village of Mitchell, The Plume of Feathers is a historic 16th Century dining pub with rooms.

I thought I'd booked bed and breakfast in a village pub, but the standards in all areas were so much more than that. Our room was in a very attractive annex building within the grounds. I believe it was a relatively new building, but so in keeping at night we assumed it was a barn conversion, the room was very modern, purpose built and exceptionally well appointed. The grounds were well managed. The food was equally as good as our welcome, for dinner and breakfast.

The room was incredibly spacious, beautifully furnished, with a spectacular view. All the staff were incredibly friendly. Breakfast was fresh with a good choice of cooked options. Evening meals were delicious. The pool looked inviting, despite it being the start of November. Best of all- the hotel was truly dog-friendly.

The room was spacious, well organised, extremely clean. The complementary tea and coffee station was a welcomed after a long travel and was greatly appreciated and well stocked. The room was serviced every two days which suited us fine. The location was perfect for us which enabled us to be close to the beach, shops and amenities including bus station. We were more than happy with the friendly and supportive guest house owners Jo and Dan. We will definitely go back!

This was a no breakfast guest house which suited us and was therefore reflected in such a good price for a really superior guest house. All the extras supplied for the room and shower room was the nicest l have ever seen. A n above quality guest house , which was quiet with a friendly host who couldn’t do enough for you we usually stay in premiere inn in Newquay but not anymore

Breakfast fabulous, made my favourite porridge just the way I like it, and I had fresh fruit, yoghurt, coffee and toast. my friend had cooked breakfast and enjoyed it too. owners very welcoming, attentive and most helpful, particularly with helping us select restaurants to book as it was proving a challenge. We liked the fact that the guest house is on the outskirts of the town therefore quiet and short 15/20mins walk into town for dinner. Bus stop outside the guest house too, taking us to Padstow, Truro and the airport.
