Perfect for rustic breaks in the countryside, an Inn is a small property with basic hotel services and typically traditional decor. Inns are fully licensed and have a bar providing food and drinks in the evening – distinguishing them from country or guest houses.
Super attentive, very polite and highly motivated staff.
Comfy bed, great breakfast fantastic atmosphere in the bar with a local band.
Perfect for us on a one night stay making us inclined to stay again for longer.
Also, family who live local say that the Golden Lion had an excellent reputation for good food. If the breakfast was anything to go by, we are having dinner next time!
The pub was situated next to a very quiet road in very attractive countryside but only a short drive from the coast. Across the road was a tranquil river. Nearby was a fascinating church with the most amazing churchyard yew trees we have ever seen and a very ancient cross. The next door village had won several 'best kept' awards. At dinner I was allowed to sample several beers before making up my mind. Dinner was good and very reasonably priced. Breakfast was also good and the over-worked waitress maintained a good sense of humour.
This is a very well run inn.
Staff and service was excellent
A lot of attention to detail.
Newport is a very attractive small place with acess to beaches and waterfront.
The location was great near the beach which a pub fir drink and dinning. There are plenty of places for walking and visiting local places. The neighbours are also friendly
The inn was delightful - with a river across the road and rustic bar area. Breakfast was superb and staff were very friendly. I booked the cheapest room which had skylights but no windows, so next time I would pay extra for a room with a view. Theres some standing stones just up the road that are worth the detour. It was well located for doing coastal walks
The Castle Inn is in the centre of Newport and just a short walk down to the Parrog. Our room was roomy and quiet and we slept well after our walks in the beautiful fresh air of Pembrokeshire. Glynn and Alison provided a magnificent breakfast menu each morning and were so friendly and welcoming. They went the extra mile to make sure we had all we needed during our stay. The food was exceptional and we will certainly return. Our little 2 night stay made us feel as though we had had a weeks holiday. Thank you Glynn, Alison, Thomas and Charlotte.
Beautiful guest house and garden. Comfortable spacious ensuite room with all that you could need. Great sleep. Lovely freshly cooked breakfast with great choice. Hosts were so welcoming, friendly and helpful with suggestions on walks in the area. A very enjoyable weekend.
A little gem! Friendly and helpful staff in a beautifully managed and maintained inn, with large comfortable rooms and fabulous food and drink. Extremely dog friendly and excellent base for walking along the coastal paths around Newport.
Beautiful tavern and inn, very well kept. Very tasty food, good selection of drinks and darts and pool available. Very comfortable room.
