The Three Blackbirds, hotel in Newmarket

Set in Stetchworth, 25 km from University of Cambridge, The Three Blackbirds offers accommodation with free bikes, free private parking, a garden and a terrace.

It comes off as very spoilt to have a pub next door but in a good way. It,s easily accessible in both the opening hours off the pub and its location and while I haven,t been in the bar, the food does not dissapoint, especially anything that comes with sauces. Even when I didn,t know precisely what the food itself was, it was still a pleasant surprise to try new things. The size of the rooms made me feel like a dwarf in a castle with no one around to make a racket so there was a fair amount of space to say the least. It,s not that the space itself is drastic or that the hotel is isolated but, better yet, the space is well managed without the cost of clamping random unwanted objects and there s an effective noise cancelling system In summary it,s an excessively content and welcoming hotel but I consider that a good thing.

Did not like breakfast. Poor, thinnest white sliced bread toast, no offer of brown. Smoked salmon and scrambled was a whole pack of salmon. No one needs that much. Returned most of it. Generally ok, but would not repeat stay.

Great host. Clean, comfortable and had everything I needed for a couple of nights away from home for work. I usually stay in a Premier Inn but this came up as closer so decided on a break from the norm! Quiet cul-de-sac location. Great shower. Parking right outside. Made a world of difference to have a kitchenette.
