Perfect for rustic breaks in the countryside, an Inn is a small property with basic hotel services and typically traditional decor. Inns are fully licensed and have a bar providing food and drinks in the evening, which distinguishes them from country or guest houses.
The choice and quality of food at breakfast was outstandinngly good with a very friendly hostess. The bedroom and our large bathroom were spotless, comfortable and lacked nothing.
Great location beside the river with a nice beer garden, great dinner and breakfast, quiet setting, the owners were very friendly and helpful, pool table in the bar!
I visited this hotel, near to the two beautiful Galloway villages of New Galloway and Dalry, as part of doing the Southern Upland Way and it was a good, comfortable option for this stage of the route. The building is a characterful old 18th century inn in a beautiful riverside setting.
The location is great, in the shadow of the Bridge, and lovely view over the river from the restaurant and terrace. The hotel is pretty traditional, with the eccentricities that come with age, but we liked it. The room was spacious enough, adequately en-suite, with the usual kettle and hairdryer, but ours had a road view and a little traffic noise. Breakfast was good, and Dinner was excellent. We chose traditional: fish & chips, steak & ale, and you won't get better. Service was friendly and personal
Excellent breakfast, great location and a beautiful region with lots to do. Don't miss a beer at the Clachan Inn and take bikes to explore the area if you can.
