The rooms are in an annex away from the main pub so no noise issues. Decor is tasteful and in keeping with the period building. The family room is enormous! Pub staff were very nice and helpful. Nicely cooked hot breakfast to order (but no buffet) and served by a friendly chef. Beautiful location, the pub being apparently characterised in one of Hardy's novels, there are pictures and information lining the corridor. No evening meal this trip but we have eaten there before. The food is pretty good with large portions.

Our family of four was on a two-week tour of the UK and the Royal Oak was our last big splurge night. We are fans of James May and when we found out he was an investor we were keen to stay in his Inn. The space has been beautifully renovated, the staff is friendly and welcoming and the rooms are comfy and well-appointed. We had a delicious dinner, including cocktails made with Mr. May's gin, and a wonderful complimentary breakfast in the morning. It was a perfect end to our vacation. Our day was full starting at Jeremy Clarkson's Diddly Squat Farm Shop, then Stonehenge, and ending at The Royal Oak so, it was all pretty perfect!

Updated rooms above a historic and quaint pub. It is in a cute countryside town. The room was large, clean, and very comfortable. We had dinner and breakfast in the pub, and the food was delicious. We ordered the sirloin and the lamb, which I would recommend. Breakfast was a full English style breakfast with options. The staff was helpful and very friendly.

Perfect for rustic breaks in the countryside, an Inn is a small property with basic hotel services and typically traditional decor. Inns are fully licensed and have a bar providing food and drinks in the evening – distinguishing them from country or guest houses.
The person who I phoned to say we were running late for dinner was really kind.
The evening meal was very nice. 2 for 1 drinks Happy hour when we arrived.
The family room was very clean and comfortable there was 2 adults and 2 children staying. It it it had a bath which was good for children.
It was so quiet and we slept well.
There were complimentary tea and coffee in the room.
Very picturesque main building Bedrooms were spacious and very clean with great views.
Loads of parking.
We ate dinner in pub/ restaurant food was amazing.

Well appointed. Lovely grounds. The accommodation is in chalet rooms close to the farmhouse. Good restaurant which gets booked up so if staying worth reserving dinner beforehand.
Friendly welcome and very friendly staff. Very relaxed atmosphere. Our group consisted of 6 friends with separate rooms. Excellent food both at dinner and breakfast. Rooms were spacious and clean.
