Bulls Head - Holymoorside, hotel in Matlock

Located in Chesterfield and with Chatsworth House reachable within 13 km, Bulls Head - Holymoorside provides concierge services, non-smoking rooms, a restaurant, free WiFi and a bar.

Myself and my partner stayed for one night in the king room with copper bath as we were going to a wedding nearby. It was a fabulous find! Everything was spotless, comfy and relaxing. Mark was lovely and went above and beyond to make sure my partner’s breakfast was tailored to his dietary requirements (even though we said he didn’t have to) and we were super grateful for this. What a star! We would 100% come back again for a couple of nights and go on some nice walks nearby. Thank you so much to all the staff.

The Chequers Inn, hotel in Matlock

In the heart of the beautiful Peak District, The Chequers Inn is a 10-minute drive from Chatsworth House. The traditional country inn has a pub restaurant and real ale bar with free Wi-Fi access.

The Inn was lovely, plenty of hot water. Food was very good breakfast choice excellent as was the service & staff in duty. The dinner menu had excellent choices although on Sunday the roast was finished which was disappointing. Could not find fault as it was a first class Inn.

Vicky made us feel extremely welcome right from the start of our stay, and every time we bumped into her she had time to chat. Found out some very interesting background and history to what is now the Old Station House guest house. Breakfast was all very good, with lots of choice and nicely cooked. It was also handy having a good pub and Indian restaurant close by.

We had a wonderful stay here. Visited many local places and had some lovely days out. Beautiful pub just a stones throw from the cottage, The Tavern. Highly recommended this pub. Cottage had everything we needed and Sue was very quick to reply and help with anything we needed. Would highly recommend this place to people.

Beauiful property, our room had a fantastic view, and everything you needed, great shower. The most comfortable bed ever, we were visiting Matlock Bath on our motorcycle, and Mark welcomed us, and we had the use of a secure garage for the duration of our stay. I recommend The Sycamore Inn just a walk down the hill from the property, and we had two fantastic evening meals there. Lovely long weekend thank you.

Lots of breakfast options & most of the food and drinks were pleasant; we also had dinner at the restaurant on the last night, which was mostly good too. Ample parking: our room was at the back of the hotel, and there was even a car park that allowed us to park just outside our room! Staff were welcoming and helpful. Checking in and out was quick and easy.

Beautiful house, very stylish. Little extras make you welcome. Great location to get to lots of sites. Owners very informative before arriving and lots of details on site. Internet great and good Tv options after a long day out (films etc). Highly recommend. Parking on road, with little street opposite for great parking. Nice little village with couple good eateries. The Tavern - lovely small pub serving good beer/wine and pub grub. Gate Inn, bit Chef & Brewer, good food and service.

The location was perfect, lovely walks on your doorstep. Very well equipped, clean and comfortable house for a family/friends get together. A Christmas tree was up in the lounge which was a lovely touch. Two pubs close by, the Tavern, a 5 minute walk and The Gate Inn, which served excellent food, 15 minute walk away.
