The Room was a perfect place to stay while visiting Lyme Regis. The bus into town stops right across the street from the bar and the bus out of town is just down the road. It is a very short walk from all of the major attractions in the area (I covered most of it in a few hours after my arrival), the staff was very friendly during my stay, and the bar itself was the perfect place to end the night with some of the locals. The owner also lives in the same building, so I felt very secure during my stay. They were even willing to keep some of my bags for me after checkout while I explored the town a bit more before leaving town.

Great location for us for visiting family in Axminster. Basic Motel style fine for us, obs near A35 but 'round the back' and also, walls were solid so noise limited. Clean bathroom and towels plus free wifi. The bed was much comfier than it looks and bedding super; 2 great nights' sleep. With a Greggs, a Subway and Londis fine for snacks. Kilmington lovely village and pleasant walk to New Inn for bar snacks. Bright lights(!) of Axminster 5 min drive.

Wendy and Steve were the perfect hosts! We received a very warm and friendly welcome from them both. Nothing was too much trouble. The food (dinner and breakfast) were excellent. A lovely way to start the day!
The accommodation is very well situated to travel into Lyme Regis.
Good location. A proper old building. Somewhat quirky. Good garden and the staff had no issues about the kids kicking a ball about. Not pretentious in the least. Car park across the road is a bonus. Breakfast is very good. Dinner was good: gale was rated very highly.
It was excellent, very friendly people, I’d mistakenly booked the wrong date and they were very very accommodating. We watched the euro final in the bar, downstairs. It had a lovely local community feel and we were made to feel very welcome. Shame about Spain winning but we won’t forget our stay!! Many thanks
The friendly and helpful staff. The excellent hake we had for dinner - best-cooked fish we had on our holiday (and we ate a lot of fish). Having a car park. The short walk into Lyme and its facilities and attractions.
The place was immaculate and beds were super comfortable. We had been on a 3 week trip and it was by far the most comfortable stay of our whole trip. The children slept well there too which is always a winner. The best thing about the property though has to be the views- just breathtaking. Such a great way to wake up in the morning and we also enjoyed sitting out on the balcony in the evening with a wine enjoying the wonderful ocean vistas
The Royal Lion is everything I want in a hotel. We were greeted by name a the door, offered seating for meals and shown to our room. Food for both breakfast and dinner was excellent. The service friendly and efficient. Every corner of The Royal Lion is comfortable and classy. It absolutely exudes old school charm in every way. A perfect choice for your stay in lovely Lyme Regis.
