The place is very pretty and peaceful
The room was cute and well equipped. We were warned that there was no sound insulation to the room above and the floorboards might creak. Actually the family upstairs were pretty quiet (and slept in as well) so it wasn't really a problem.
The breakfast hamper is a really nice touch, and there's plenty of it.
We were in transit and this was a really convenient and pleasant stop off point for us.
Dinner was excellent in a lovely dining room.

It was fun to stay above the pub. Many locals came in mid-week to have a beer. This is something that we've only seen on the telly. The room was nice. The food was good. It was easy to get a nice dinner and breakfast. We parked in a parking spot behind the Inn.

Perfect for rustic breaks in the countryside, an Inn is a small property with basic hotel services and typically traditional decor. Inns are fully licensed and have a bar providing food and drinks in the evening – distinguishing them from country or guest houses.
The food menu was excellent and the breakfast was lovely and all reasonably priced, the staff were nice and accommodating. The room was clean and the beds very comfortable. The garden was very nice. It was easy to get to with ample parking. There was a good range of amenities close by, for example; petrol station, inns, restaurants and a farm shop all within a few miles drive. You are also pretty close to an A road which means traveling around is easy.
The location was excellent. I chose Lydford because I knew it would be easy to access all the Dartmoor walks I had planned. It was a pleasant surprise to discover that it has its own attractions: Lydford Castle, Lydford Gorge, the White Lady, etc. All the staff at the Castle Inn really understand what good customer service means; I was treated very well by everyone. The food was also of a very high standard, indeed.
We arrived in a very rainy night. It might have been June but they had a log fire going which was very welcome. The rooms were comfortable and the bed and the pillows were amazing. Bathroom was clean but I’m personally not a lover of electric showers but it was ok.
Food was excellent both for dinner and breakfast.
We stayed at Castle Inn on our ride through Devon . Great place full of rustic English character. Exceptionally clean, and well presented. Food was outstanding. I would say is great value for price-quality . Thank you !
